Appointment Times

calendarTelephone:
  • Chapel Street Surgery 0844 477 0920
  • Mayfield Road Surgery 0844 477 0930

You can make an appointment online (see below), by calling at the reception desk or by telephoning the Receptionist.

Our appointment system is designed to allow as many patients as possible to see a Doctor within two working days. To do this, most appointment slots are released each morning, although there are a number of pre-bookable appointments available each day up to a maximum of two weeks ahead.

We try to accommodate requests for particular Doctors wherever possible, although you may be offered an appointment with any of the Doctors or our Nurse Practitioner who is able to diagnose and prescribe for many minor illnesses.

You may be invited to speak to our Triage Nurse to help make sure you are seen by an appropriate clinician. Appointments for Nurses are bookable up to four weeks in advance.

If you have booked an appointment that you subsequently find you cannot attend, please let the Receptionist know as soon as possible so that it can be offered to someone else.

Waiting

The pressure on the appointment system can be great at times. Some consultations take longer than expected. A Doctor may have to leave the surgery in an emergency, so waiting may be unavoidable. Please be patient!

Medical Students

Occasionally, a student Doctor or Nurse may sit in with one of our Doctors or Nurses as part of his or her undergraduate training. Your permission is always required for this and you have the right to decline having the student sitting in during consultation. Please advise reception on arrival.
